Drop 14 box three away. She sent you to buy to the cattle guard gate. With her mind made up and tears in her eyes, almost made her daddy cry. Said don't forget to call when you get their girl Driving on that chilling road, hoping to see my fine. A whole lot more waiting up ahead than what she lived behind Movin' upstairs downtown. I've two shows me hanging around. She's waiting at this time she got out of the woods.

SPEAKER_30

She's getting out while her getting scoot.

SPEAKER_14

She's unpacked a dish or two. She just got her phone turned on today. Just outside as she's thumbing through the classified, looking for work and a new job's okay. Driving on that crosstown freeway, open machine five, five. Lots two stones to be hanging around. She's waiting and it's time, so we gotta go to wood. She's getting out while I'm getting s good. Red notice said they turned off her telephone. There's nothing left for her to do, so she's packed up a thing or two. Loaded her car down now. She's headed home. She not found a whole lot more waiting up ahead and watching the hound. Lost two stores for me hanging around. Stoo big changing time. She got back to the wood.

SPEAKER_08

Good man can only take so much, man, until it's had enough, and then I've had enough.

SPEAKER_31

I all roll up straight through his yard, kick his door down, but I'm so tore up till I can't even drive right now.

SPEAKER_19

Good man, can only take so much man until it's had enough And gotta have enough to come back to his own send on the home and call Rocky Mountie Mount I don't know where you just wanna be free.

SPEAKER_21

Cut me loose, forget all about me. Baby, tell me, have you ever heard about this little fly of number one?

SPEAKER_17

What comes up, have your day in the sun Have a blast, honey, have you some fun But don't forget about the dude up What comes up the color stuff on news and seven day forecast coming up moment away? Can you fade the other thing? But you'll be choosing my company. I'm not supposed to love you anymore. Now Shana said she's jealous of this freedom that I've found. She would meet, she would be out on the two, and she says she can't imagine what on earth. Now I'm writing you this letter, and it's gonna be tonight that I agree when you believed it was wet, and I couldn't sleep up all a bit, so I'm down here on the floor, but I'm not supposed to love you in the morning. Cause I'm not supposed to love you anymore.

SPEAKER_28

Of course, once again I've got that extended weather forecast for you, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but things are looking a little choppy, a little wet. For about ten days, we're in a mix. You know, here along the Gulf Coast, uh, we can often see thunderstorms and severe weather pop up, really, uh, just about any time. Spring, summer, fall, and even winter. So, in the mix for the rest of today, temperatures will be hovering right around 88, 89 degrees during the day. And we're gonna see a little bit cooler weather in the overnight down to about 75 if you can if you can really call that cooler, but 75, we'll take it. Sunny for the majority of today, and maybe a slight sprinkle or two happening someplace in our neck of the woods. But other than that, things are looking good for the rest of our Thursday. As for tomorrow, we're gonna start off the morning with thunderstorms, and about a 40% chance of that happening with sun breaking through sometime in the afternoon. As far as the temperatures go, about 89 will be the high tomorrow. And the overnight around 77 wind coming out of the east and southeast for tomorrow, and about 9 to 12 miles for hours. Now, as we're looking at the weekend, again, being the bearer of bad news, scattered thunderstorms remain over our neck of the woods, over our coastal Alabama for a number of days. Saturday and Sunday, we're gonna see scattered thunderstorms throughout the day. About 55% chance of that happening. Winds coming out of the east, southeast both days, and about 12 miles per hour. And our temperature high for Saturday and Sunday, right around 89 degrees during the daytime, 79 in the overnight. Unfortunately, Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week's not gonna look much better. We're gonna see thunderstorms breaking much of Monday, 70% chance of that happening. Temperatures will be a bit cooler, down to 87 degrees. 77 in the overnight. Those thunderstorms don't look like they're going to linger throughout the whole day, but they're going to be hit or miss. 70% chance of storms for Monday. Now, Tuesday and Wednesday, we're gonna see isolated and scattered thunderstorms throughout our region. Temperatures hovering right around 90 degrees during the daytime. Around 80 during the evening. Thursday and Friday once again of those isolated or scattered thunderstorms about 40%. Temperature is creeping up a little bit warmer. 92 on both days during the daytime. 80 in the overnight window from the west and about 12 miles for the following weekend. Again, 30% chance to scatter storms. Maybe just rain. We don't know. But we're looking as far out as possible. And as far as we can see, almost 20 days out of those isolated or scattered thunderstorms. They are gonna be a pain in our neck. They're gonna be lingering for a good amount of time. We'll have all that updated for you once again on Monday on the program, but that's just what it's looking like for us weather-wise here along the Gulf Coast for the next 10 days. Hey folks, thanks for joining us here on Coastal Alabama's newest radio show, Highway 98, where everything is local and all about living on the coast. We're bringing you great music, news and local events every day, right here on Highway 98.

SPEAKER_00

When school crossing signs are posted, do not drive faster than 15 miles per hour until you're in the crosswalk. Do not pass other vehicles, even if they're driving slower than their line. You have to pass the other driver for it to be a violation. When you see anyone in the crosswalk, they must come to a full stop until they're completely out of the crosswalk. Remember, we don't want to write you a ticket. We just want to keep our school crossings accident-free.

SPEAKER_31

I packed up my bags and I left it all behind. The past is a shadow, but it's no longer mine. The sun is dead, but it's rising in my soul. I'm chasing something new where the wild winds blow.

SPEAKER_17

I walked through the storms, I felt the rain, but now I'm ready to break the chain. A fresh start to wheat. Leave a little flame behind. There's a fire in my heart. And it's burning bright. The chains of yesterday, they just can't hold me tight. I made my peace.

SPEAKER_31

I said my goodbyes. Now I'm stepping forward.

SPEAKER_17

Leaving everything behind to touch the sky.

SPEAKER_10

Told me that her cousin just turned twenty-one. She took my hand and said, We're dancing. When they played a famous song, we didn't stop till everybody else was gone. I'm gonna change her name, but she don't know it yet. She's what I've been praying. Something God wants in. I ain't never been the same since we first met. I'm gonna marry that girl. I'm gonna marry that girl. My best friend's tired of hearing me talk about her smile. She says you've only known her for a little while. I better take it slow. I just say I will, but I already know. I'm gonna change her name, but she don't know it yet. She's what I've been praying. Something God put sin. I ain't never been the same since we first met. I'm gonna marry that girl. I'm gonna marry that girl. I'll take a perfect break. I'll take a perfect time. Ask her if she'll have me on the rest of my life. I'm gonna change her name, but she don't know me. She's what I've been praying, so make God would say. I'm gonna never I'm gone every day. Don't buy that brain. I'm gonna make that girl. I'm gonna make that girl.

SPEAKER_04

Easing up with the sun, working all day. Easy gets the job done. Ain't a liquor quitting. I'm a sucker, fool, wrangler, man. Work day warning, cowlies dancing on four by four, pulling up in the dry. To hang it up for the night. When it takes the cowboy off, the rough goes smooth and ahead and the boots get lost. I lose my mind. Kits me every time. Let them roll to your eyes. Open me in, sweeping me up like a tumble with a wind. That west tastes it strong. Looks good all day long. The nothing really turns me on. Like when it takes the cowboy. Really gets my heart racing. To get my hands on him, second he walks in. Cause hell I'm done waiting for when he takes the cowboy. The roots get lost. I lose my life. Gets me every time. Then road to you last open me in, sweeping me up like a tumble with a win. That almost takes it strong. It's good all day long. But nothing really turns me on. Like what it takes to get a food alone I'm a circle for the man. What do you want? Call it say I've been form by four, pullin' up in the dry. Swapin' me, sweeping me up like a tumble with a little six long. Looks good all day long. But nothing really turns me on. Like when it takes a cowboy.

SPEAKER_25

When we're responding to emergency runs, we need everybody's help to get there as fast as we can. So when you see the lights, move to the right.

SPEAKER_12

July 3rd, 2014. It is a day I will never forget. A police officer rescued his niece from a rib current. I then watched as if he pulled him out. It all happened so fast one moment. He was enjoying the beach with his family. The next he was gone. Rip currents are dangerous and they are deadly. Pay attention to the beach flags and know what to do if you get caught in a river current. It could save your life. To learn more, go to visit albeaches.com/slash safety.

SPEAKER_28

You're gonna have a great chance to showcase your fishing skills this fall at the wharf in North Beach. The kids win fishing tournament presented by Rouse and Market is open to children ages 3 to 10. The event's gonna be held at Main Street and Marlin Circle at the Wharf. The tournament will benefit Make A Wish, Alabama. Now children will compete in two age groups during the tournament. The small fry division, you know, ages three to six, and the large fry division for ages seven to ten. This is gonna take place Saturday, September the 26th. From 9 a.m. until 11 30 a.m. fishing begins Friday, September 25th. At about 5 p.m. and in Saturday morning, registration opens up on Thursday, July the 30th. Well, that's already passed. But nonetheless, you can still get in there. And it's limited to the first 125 children who sign up. There is an entry fee of $55 per child. Organizers say every participating child will be considered a winner and will have the chance to collect prizes and trophies. Rogers Morgan and Brian Bank will sponsor kids' activities, snacks, and drinks for entrance during the way in at Marlin Circle. Oh my goodness. Sure does. Register now. And hey, you guys will have a blast.

SPEAKER_09

Couple beers and conversation way too hardy. Some band played way too loud, didn't care. Just kept spinning around on a dance floor. Do you favorite song? Hope they played more. Didn't wanna go home. Oh, try not to go too far. It all started in a ball. Had friends that flew in from out of town. Told them I was good for one or two. Then it walked you in. I guess I must stay a little too long. Cause you laughed. You tried to play it off, and didn't come over. So I came over. And then it started in a bar. Couple beers and conversation way too hardy. Cause the man played way too loud, didn't care.

SPEAKER_28

Turn down the lights turn down the bed down these voices inside my head lay down with me tell me no lies just own me because don't patronize don't patronize mecause I can make you love me if you don't you can make your heart feel something in a won here in the dark in these final hours I will lay down my heart and I will feel the power for you all you all cause I can't make you love me if you don't close my eyes then I will see love you don't feel when you hold in me morning will come and I'll do what's right give me chilling to give up this fight navo give up this fight I can make you love me if you don't you can make your heart feel something more here in the dark is fine love I will my heart I will feel though you all can make you love me for Christian country so driving in the car or on the app thanks for listening play the guitar I'll take the band on Alabama is all new I Wait 98 radio A lot of us love the US Alabama the battleship over at the Memorial Park well it's gonna be even more spectacular that's right because now you can come and see history coming to life with the World War II reenactors during the living drill uh drill which is gonna be spectacular historical reenactors dressed in World War II period navy uniforms demonstrate really what life aboard the ship was like during wartime. They'll share stories from the original crewmen, conduct weapon briefings, and demonstrate drills while aboard the ship. The drill is open to the public and it's included with the general ticket commission and I'll tell you this this is gonna be fun. It really is that's happening on August the 22nd of 2026 from 8 a.m until 3 p.m reenactors all sorts of things happening at the Battleship Memorial Park. Once again that's from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m and here's the exit you know Johnny he has six beers in already this is not gonna end well Steve he's rumbling bubbling stumbling all over the place and oh that can't be good look at that stopping key action that's gonna draw a penalty drinking driving possible $1,500 fine and one year in jail yeah Steve that was a good call by the ref one bad decision totally changes the game you know what just goes to show if you drink when you drive nobody wins across America and here along the Gulf Coast in Baldwin and Mobile counties more than 75% of all firefighters are volunteers they spend their time helping others around the clock many of our volunteers from home from work and from the fire station but just like businesses all around the country it's becoming more and more difficult to recruit firefighters. If you want to truly help your community and make a difference I encourage you to reach out to your local volunteer fire department here along the Gulf Coast or anywhere in the country and volunteer your time today. Unlike 20 or 30 years ago volunteer firefighters are professional firefighters professionally trained firefighters and many times EMTs and paramedics please help your community donate some of your time and you'll not only make a difference but you'll feel good about it.

SPEAKER_07

I know I've been a volunteer firefighter EMT paramedic and law enforcement most of my life please reach out today and thank you man don't cry I was wiping my eyes as his mama held him in her arms that night I took the drive home slow I was taking my time thinking about the way he's gonna change our lives eight pounds of innocent waddled in chamo and I can already tell you if it's all we can hang out at night it's two years old and it's racing to the door we knock it once go all the time but it's back and backwards on the bull eye do we want to be but that do what do we have our hands in our pockets while we're in the eight day I still go back to all that we're back to the end of the top is that on backwards on the bow like that's anymore be do we do one be but I'm glad that you want to be the girl just like all that you'll split me in that spot just like me and I love that for just like we're gonna buy that's how you gon' buy I had to say hello and I don't mean a fry but girl I gotta know what is the thing I come I ain't seen you around before I ain't never had a type having a type takes too I know what I like and yeah they don't want you to talk about I know we just never I wanna do do do do do my kids take it home taking home it's only on the wake around you what the photo and I'll take it and I wanted to do to do my kids I've got a couple of quick news items if you haven't already heard uh police in Baldwin County have made an arrest and a murder that occurred uh a couple of days ago that was uh an unfortunate situation occurring just outside of the city limits of Bay Bonette according to Baldwin County Sheriff's Department spokesperson 56 year old Terry Barnes was found deceased and Lee Snyder 55 has been charged with murder now Snyder has previously been charged with a violent crime and authorities uh didn't want really want to go into why he was already out et cetera etc this was some type of disagreement the homicide happened on Wash Branch Road authorities say that is just outside of the city limits of Bay Manette.

SPEAKER_28

A state constable in Mobile County has been charged with some very very serious crimes and are facing many other federal crimes 49 year old Chandler Bell Jr who was a constable in the county an elected official was involved uh in a police incident according to law enforcement um the Mobile County constable has been identified now and um he is being held in the Mobile County jail. Albert McCray is facing charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon rape first degree sexual abuse first degree forbidden person to possess a firearm unlawful imprisonment and now he's facing federal charges for the gun charge which he's not supposed to have the U.S. Marshals currently has a federal hold on hand and are seeking other federal charges at this time. A constable is a sworn law enforcement officer in many states including in parts of Alabama they generally serve civil process but they can also do traffic stops and make other arrests accordingly Scambia County authorities say that a Nathmore man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries from an accident Larry Wright 70 crashed his vehicle off the roadway authorities transported him to a regional hospital this occurred on Jack Springs Road near Smith Derry Road while at the hospital unfortunately Mr. Wright did uh pass away have you ever thought about your kids being lost or maybe an elderly loved one lost. Well the lost found again on Fort Morgan in Fort Morgan for some reason on this little peninsula many people go missing. Oh they don't get they don't stay missing but a story on blue rammedia.com spells out the number of times that people go missing every season spring and with the return of summer the Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's attachment unit gear up to head out for water rescues, medical emergencies and oh yes, the young and old sometimes also wander away and get reported missing. Thankfully most of the time almost all the time actually they are found children wander away playing with other children. The elderly with dementia or other medical issues sometimes also wander away. Unfortunately Fort Morgan is known to be a a really kind of a deadly area for drownings. Recently in the last couple of months a 40-year-old father tragically drowned trying to save his 10-year-old son from rough surf during a double red flag condition and we of course we all remember in June 6 2021 where Baltimore County deputy William Bill Smith made the ultimate sacrifice by going out to recover several distressed swimmers and he unfortunately lost his life in doing that rescue. In Orange Beach a lifeguard and the city of Orange Beach is being sued for more than two million dollars after an Orange Beach lifeguard ran over a man on the beach with a government pickup truck. This happened a couple of years ago now Mark and Christine Kelleman have filed a lawsuit asking for additional revenue for medical bills current and future and this is surely going to go to trial. A side note is that Orange Beach has a number of federal lawsuits in the court already and so there may be a settlement deal but we don't know that for sure. A mobile man's been indicted on multiple violent uh sexual crimes 21-year-old John Christopher Stallings was indicted on six counts including first degree rape by force sexual torture by force sexual torture with physical injury two counts of first degree assault and currently is being held a quick response by the Mobile police department quickly captured a burglar authorities were dispatched to a burglary in progress at 5565 Carroll Plantation Service Road that is a trucking company authorities said Sunday August the second officers arrived at about 317 in the afternoon and they were able to capture a burglar. David Duane Dunn is facing burglary in the third unlawful breaking and entering an attempted theft of property first degree he was caught trying to steal an A teen wheeler he had already stolen a number of other items from the property during his crime spread according to law enforcement he's currently in the Mobile County jail waiting for his support hearing also in the news a home explosion killed a man after he was smoking near an oxygen tank. This happened in Chilton County 911 received a call of a house fire firefighters arriving on scene was able to rescue two other people out of the home in the 5,000 block of County Road 76 in Clanton authorities have determined that the man who owned the house was smoking with an oxygen tank in the room oxygen must have been leaking from the tank. Raymond Lee Taylor 69 died at the scene in the house fire tragically and we do hear about this all the time and it's a real thing well once again that's gonna wrap it up for us on this Thursday uh morning and uh hope that you all enjoyed the show remember you can download and play our shows starting from show number one all the way to almost show number 400 we'll be there sooner than uh you might even think within a few weeks. But everything is on the iHeartRadio network we are an iHeartRadio station and we're also being distributed on more than 40 other platforms. Remember professionally produced the radio show has been a hit. You can make it a bigger hit by telling your friends family co-workers and anyone who will listen and you might even grab yourself a goodie bag by doing that and uh remember no matter where you're driving whether it be on the interstate the county road the back road wherever it might be if you hear sirens if you see lights of course that just means one thing and that's the pull to the right make sure that all of our emergency responders are gonna get to where they're going safely you can also get to where you're going safely by simply not drinking and driving not even a little bit don't be on the phone texting and driving and just be careful try not to tailgate and overall just try and be the best safe driver that you can be and
