SPEAKER_19

A truck only goes so far on half a tank. That credit card ain't money in the bank. If it don't sound like a good idea, it probably ain't. She might love you, but she won't like you all the time. Instead of taking her for granted, take her somewhere to nice note to self. The bake diamond rings. Bigger don't always mean better. The grass ain't always green.

SPEAKER_05

Money don't go on trees never can't make somebody be made for you. Gotta go to the brain for you.

SPEAKER_19

Which is best with their all the channel. Some girls say goodbye and mean goodbye. It don't mean that she don't hurt, she don't cry. You gonna wish you would when she tells you she don't.

SPEAKER_05

Bigger don't always mean the grass ain't always green. Honey don't both tree something to make you for you.

SPEAKER_19

Which best way of the bigger ball still. I should've gone with the stone. I should've read it in the border.

SPEAKER_05

Should have run it on my heart. Figure don't always mean better. The grass ain't always green. But it don't grow three. Got the goal that do the brain for you. Richest rest left up there on the shelf.

SPEAKER_19

You gonna have to find the answer somewhere else. Note the sales.

SPEAKER_16

You need to call the professionals at Mobile Bay Public Safety Patrol. Two five one two six four two four nine eight. Mobile patrol. Mobile Bay Patrol. Two five one two six four two four nine. Mobile Bay Patrol.

SPEAKER_15

Good morning, everyone. Welcome back to Coastal Alabama Radio Thursday. Thursday morning. The second day of April. No, I can I'm not gonna play any April jokes because that was yesterday. I'd love to have been broadcasting yesterday, but had a couple up my sleeve, but well we'll save that for uh next year, maybe I guess. But welcome back to Coastal Alabama Radio. This is uh Thursday morning. We have got so much to talk about. We've got plenty of music. I've got a ton of breaking news and some other items that we want to discuss during today's program. And as always, we ask that you tell all of your friends and family, co-workers, neighbors, and anybody who will listen about Coastal Alabama Radio because we seriously, seriously, we are your local radio station in tune with what's happening here along the Gulf Coast. We've got the best music extended weather forecast, the latest news, and I want to tell you, and I'm not bragging, but we have more news before any other news station gets it. We know what's happening. We've got our thumb on the pulse of our community. If you want to sign up for newsletters, contact help desk at Blu Randia.com. I got a whole lot of other things I want to say, maybe a little bit of bragging to do today today, but before we can do that, we want to play some music, and I'll be back in just a few minutes.

SPEAKER_21

With no direction, just a road with no end, half a man with a plant I couldn't hold in my hands. Because of you, I stand a little taller. Because of you, I answer when life caused.

SPEAKER_05

Have a use or more than I could see, turn the baby into me.

SPEAKER_21

Every heart be towing the line, toed ourselves as strong as stone. But even bricks can crack when you're alone. We're living in a glass house, flowing stone, saying things we don't mean.

SPEAKER_05

Cut to the phone, smart to burn it all down somehow. In a glass high Stay forever, but your eyes look tired.

SPEAKER_04

I see the truth behind that fire. We're standing close for miles apart. Hold on pieces of a broken heart. We used to shine, we used to love.

SPEAKER_05

We're living in a glass house, throwing stones, stay in things we don't make. Uh to the phone on smart burn it all down somehow. Yeah, in a glass house.

SPEAKER_21

I still remember your first smile when every mile was worth the while. But somewhere along this worn out a row, we dropped the love we used to hold.

SPEAKER_05

Now every word's alone and God. We can lay these stones aside, and let forgiveness be our God. Maybe we find when we find it. We have all the plane fright glasses.

SPEAKER_04

Holding on, try to fix what we've done wrong. The light still shines through the cracks somehow.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe love still still. In this class half this class half.

SPEAKER_03

She had a dress that swayed all around her knees, and the voice said soft as a summer breeze.

SPEAKER_12

In 2021, five of these deaths were on the Gulf Coast. Rip currents are the number one ruthery-related killer at the beaches along the northern Gulf Coast. The number of rip current fatalities on these beaches is more than the fatalities of flooding, tornadoes, lightning, and tropical storms or hurricanes combined. Learn the facts. Before heading out to the beach, check current beach conditions and know what each flag means. Always swim near a lifeguard. Rip currents are narrow currents that flow away from the beach. If you notice you're being pulled away from the beach and are swimming and getting tired, you may be in a rip current. Think of it like a treadmill that you can't turn off. You want to step to the side of it. Don't swim against the current. Try to swim across it in a direction following the shoreline. Rip currents do not pull you under, but may take you as far out as a football field so people can tire quickly. The most important thing is to stay calm. If you can't escape the current, float or calmly tread water. Wave for help if you can. Rip current's strength eventually subsides and may even take you closer to shore. If you see someone caught in a rip current, call 911 or get a lifeguard and throw something that floats towards the victim. For more information, please visit www.visitaalbeaches.com slash safety.

SPEAKER_15

You know, if you listen to the program anytime at all, or if you're a regular and you listen to it on every show, which we love that, you know, or you will know today, I try to keep this uh program lighthearted and try and stay a little left up or a little in the middle of, I should say, of uh politics. But there's a new project that's about to get approved in Daphne. If you live in Daphne and I do, uh I have my office in Daphne, actually. Um our employees live in Daphne. I want you to be aware of this um brand new development that is coming to Daphne and is probably gonna get the final approval on April 2nd. I'm not again building, and I'm not again rolling, I'm definitely not. I'm a businessman, so of course that's good for me. But it's gonna be Highway 181 and Road 54. Um right there by the gas station, and the back side and the left and the right side. Um There's a new project coming. It's an Italian villa. Um, it's gonna have a neighborhood Walmart, it's gonna have stores, it's gonna have luxury apartments, you could even get it uh underway construction-wise by the summer. Daphne Mayor Robin LeJune says this is really uh specific to the area. It's gonna have an Italian villa feel. Um it's gonna feel like uh, you know, the old Italian Daphne, which you know you may not have known it noticed that or knew about that, but it's also gonna bring about 350 jobs, it's gonna have construction jobs, it's gonna bring more tax to the tax base. All of that is great. I've got a lot of things going on in Daphne, and so well, you know what? What I don't like is the 181 and 64. If you travel that road up and down 64, or they have a 181. You know there's wrecks there almost every day. You know there's some serious wrecks there. Traffic is a nightmare during the commuter's hours, and it's already bogged down with vehicles and you know, we have things growing. They put up a new drive-thru coffee, uh ridges, is building a new car wash there. There's uh plan for uh a restaurant, and then down the road a little bit toward 104, of course. There's uh a whole bunch of construction happening there, a couple of oil change places and McDonald's and Chick-fil-A, and on and on and on. And that's what we're becoming, and uh you know someone who's been here since '89, part-time or full-time. I just have seen so much uh change. And uh obviously what you think. Right now you can advertise your business, your product, your company on all of the platforms of Blue Ram media. That includes radio shows, newsletters, and all of our social media. Hundreds and thousands of people collectively visit us every day. And now they can visit with you for just one hundred dollars a month. Advertise your product, your business, your company, yourself. Contact us at helpdesk at bluerammedia.com.

SPEAKER_04

Two left turns from the one star black. Building on the corner don't have a sign, but you know where to go. Everybody knows. Everybody jacks on the barstool has a look. Just like a church pew. Everybody's got their seat. They sit in every week. While they pour me in the other. I just sit in wonder. Who I'll be by stay. All I know is I've changed. They're drinking off the same day. Spending blue collar money the same way. And if they could, would they leave? Just everybody tree. Well, I don't know. Nothing breaks my heart. Like my hometown, but Robert New. Just like his death. I heard Always got four mouths of feet. One paycheck for two weeks.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not talking about the world outside this town.

SPEAKER_04

I feel guilty, I got out while they were mean the other. I just sit and wonder who I'd be if I stayed. All our long ways are changed. They're drinking off the same day. Spending blue-collar money the same way. And if they could, would they leave? Cause everybody dream well. Nothing breaks my heart. Like my hometown bar.

SPEAKER_05

So I say bats, then she made me. When I come back, they pour me another.

SPEAKER_04

I just sit and wonder who I'd be if I stayed.

SPEAKER_05

All I know is I've changed. They think you're off the same day, spending blue collar money the same way. If they come with a leave, does everybody dream? I don't know. Nothing breaks my heart.

SPEAKER_04

But nothing has my followers. Like my hometown bars. Nothing has my heart. Like my hometown bar.

SPEAKER_05

I know what this is, I know what it's like. I know where it starts, I know where it starts. It ain't coffee in the moon. Now it's a shot. I know what I'm getting myself into right now. But I just can't feel I still wanna stick around Till that sun starts killing me. It's time to kiss your nose goodbye. Till the last side of my bed is empty. I'm wondering why Maybe I can leave the shadow with you and done. I love you with all my heart. Till don't do a spark till don't do a spark I don't want to use a no I don't want you to call a noff in the middle.

SPEAKER_15

SPEAKER_02

If you've never had a breakup, you probably don't drink a wheel. If you've never let some words fly out, you wish you could take back. If you've never had to turn around on the road where you're at. With the world, what went wrong going on inside your head? If you never act your heart, red bar, ring a lot. If you've never stood out on a board, big one more chance. Or let the love of your life flip right through your head. If you don't know the better things to take away, you probably don't break with all the wrong bed. With the world and what went wrong, going on. If you've never had your heart, red heart ring on that.

SPEAKER_08

In this clear town. Yeah, you had to come walking in here and sit down. I'm hiding and hoping my face ain't too red.

SPEAKER_15

Mobile Bay Patrol Service, public safety and law enforcement train with more than 30 years experience here along the Gulf Coast, protecting our people, our property, and our way of life. Give them a call at 251-264-2498. They offer mobile patrol services of churches, businesses, clubs, gated communities, condominiums, beach resorts, yacht clubs, and so much more. 251-264-2498. Call today and you will sleep better tonight. And once again, this morning, Thursday morning, I've got the latest updated, extended weather forecast. Just like always. And we're gonna start off with the rest of today, as we can see. We've got sunshine, we're gonna have a few clouds lingering back and forth for the rest of the day. 78 will be the high, although I saw someplace 81 was gonna be the high. That's probably between 78 and 81. Let's call it 79 and a half. And overnight we're gonna be looking at about 66 very mild wind coming out of the east, southeast 5 to 10 miles per hour. Now, tomorrow is when the clouds will really begin moving in quite a lot more. You know, much more than it was today. The temperature high on Friday is 77 degrees, and the low will be 66. We do have about a 15% chance of rain showers, both late uh in the afternoon as well as in the overnight. Wind will be blowing out of the east, southeast. The rest of uh tomorrow and overnight, 5 to 20 miles per hour, depending, I guess, where you are along the coast. But overall, uh, we're not looking at anything significant rain-wise, and it's gonna be mild. Saturday and uh Sunday, we do have a chance of some rain showers. That's Easter weekend. Saturday, the high will be around 78 degrees, wind coming out of the southeast 10 to 15 miles per hour. The overnight on Saturday 65 degrees, and we do have about a 30% chance of some rain showers, wind blowing from the south to southeast 5 to 10 miles per hour. Sunday, unfortunately, we do have more rain showers in the mix, and it looks like a mostly cloudy day, with rain showers in the morning becoming steady in the afternoon. So if you have big plans to get out and maybe have a picnic or some type of sunrise event, unfortunately it doesn't look like uh there's a good chance of that happening, but And we do have some serious winds, I would say, coming out of the Thursday and Friday. Nothing upwards of twenty twenty-five miles per hour. And then we move on into the weekend Saturday and Sunday 77 will be the high 64 in the overnight. The good thing is going to be all that we don't need to worry about. There's no rain in the forecast. Of course, we will have the updated weather for you on the next program.

SPEAKER_00

We need everybody's help to get there.

SPEAKER_21

Another last resort, so help me, Jesus. The silence, so quiet, it's fair.

SPEAKER_05

My mind where everything we were that wasn't once again. I fall to pieces. Read every chapter, every verse. But on my prayers, they always hit the sail. So I do the only thing that don't make me feel ill. Tryna keep my head above the water. I'm almost keep drowning in this Tennessee. I gave up the shooting star. To fix this kind of feeling and I'm failing. I'm trying to back to that shirt. Don't make me feel here comes the bird. To fix this feeling, feeling sure. I've been to Houston, but I got back to my roots. I've been up, I've been down up the deep, been in the cooking crown, been a little lost, a little found, just looking for the truth. SPEAKER_15

Coco Alabama is all new at Highway 98 Radio Mobile Bay Patrol Service, public safety and law enforcement train with more than 30 years experience here along the Gulf Coast, protecting our people, our property, and our way of life. Give them a call at 251-264-2498. They offer mobile patrol services of churches, businesses, gated communities, continents, beach resorts, yaqua, and so much more at 251-264-2498. No, I don't think they would appreciate that.

SPEAKER_05

Don't really know me.

SPEAKER_21

Still, I want you to listen closely. This might sound crazy, but that rot isn't loud like that. I might be crazy to let this moment.

SPEAKER_05

What if tonight tonight?

SPEAKER_21

What if once in a lifetime for we could be that we know?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, or something. What it wants in a lifetime.

SPEAKER_15

And today in our breaking news segment, remember you can always report news night, day, afternoon. Send it to newsdesk at blue rammedia.com. We sure would appreciate it. Walmart and Fair Hope is adding a new part of their store. A new store within the store, so to speak. It's a liquor store. That's right. It's only the second one in Alabama, the other one is in Tuscaloosa. And it's another first floor for Fair Hope allowing it to uh be approved. But it has been approved, and it will be open sooner than later. Highway 181 and County Road 48, you know where it's located. It will be selling liquor. Possibly for the McDonald's restaurant once a prime spot close to the front doors, which could also make it easy for things to snatch and grab and run. The timeline for opening is not although it's gonna be sooner than later. And of course, if you drink later, then this might be a good discount door for you. The investigation led then to Bryce Klockener. He's charged with five counts of unlawful possession of child pornography. The investigation was a tip that came through uh the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a great uh organization, and uh he's currently in custody. A dump truck rolled over on County Road 28. This happened um on March the 31st at around 10 30 or so near Long Road, if you know where that's at. Local fire department, CMS and Aaliyah responded, they shut down the road, a medical helicopter was dispatched. Law enforcement is still investigating, no charges. The driver only had minor injuries. However, a teen did get killed in a traffic accident. Three others were injured in Scambia County near Bruton. Police have not identified the 18-year-old who was a passenger in a pickup truck that was fatally injured when that uh the pickup truck left the roadway and overturned. Three other teens were brought to the hospital and are in good, non-life-threatening uh injuries. Federal Public Utilities has announced once again, as they often do, that they had three overflow spills in one day. Or in one week. The Federal Public Utilities waste department said that they responded uh to three different ones. They all went into the big mouth gully. If you're familiar with that, one had 200 gallons of untreated sewage, uh, one had 1200 gallons of untreated sewage, and another one had about 70 gallons of untreated sewage. They have 50, they said, and there were different reasons why that happened. Police nationwide want you parents to know that the Benadryl Challenge the latest thing happening to children is not good because it could be dirty. The Benadryl Challenge intends children to eat twelve or more tablets, Benadryl tablets. But what happens is the children can become very sick or they could even die. Go to our website, Blue Ram Media, to look at all the various symptoms and um signs that something could be wrong. And if you do have a child that does eat those things, get them to the ER as quickly as possible. We've conducted an investigation last year and this year, believe it or not. I'm sure you do believe it. Spring break arrests in golf shores has been trending upwards for the last couple of years. This year, more than 200 arrests have been made already during spring break. In fact, two house open house parties, they made over a hundred and fifty arrests. There's also been a higher frequency of teenagers with guns, uh, violence, threats, fights, and things of that nature happening. The police have brought in local law enforcement, state law enforcement, and they're keeping an eye on it. I believe they're doing a good job. But they probably need some more manpower. A former postal worker from Mobile has been captured. Timothy Chandler was wanted for theft and destruction of mail. He was arrested by federal law enforcement in Missouri. He's being held without a bond. He faces up to five years in federal prison. He'll be extradited some point or other back to Alabama, where he will face those charges. Three men in Mobile were arrested for drug trafficking. Federal authorities conducting a long-term investigation arrested three people who were trafficking drugs from Mexico to the Gulf region. They're currently being held on felony and federal charges. Police do expect possible other arrests uh in this case. Remember, when you see news happening here along the Gulf Coast, all you gotta do is send us a tip. Newsdesk at Bluram Media.com. Believe it or not. You ever watch that show? Ripley. Earthquake hits the Gulf of America. Yeah, that's true. Sunday, 9.23 p.m. A earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 hit the Gulf of Mexico in the deepest part of the Gulf. The largest ever recorded in the Gulf was a 5.9 magnitude that occurred in 2006. No, we didn't feel it here, and no, it didn't feel any tremors elsewhere, but it did occur. And you never know, living along the Gulf Coast, what kind of weather, what type of system, or even whether or not we're gonna have a hurricane or an earthquake. That's kind of exciting. Or for others, not so much. Assumed man pled guilty to rape, authorities say a lie to a person who raped a woman in a vehicle after setting up a meeting. According to authorities, person took what's called a blind plea on charges of sexual torture. That doesn't guarantee him any type of deal. He could serve a long sentence or a short sentence. Uh, but we will know the outcome coming up in May. Police say that Leah troopers are well deserving of heroic life-saving medals. And so twelve troopers were recently honored in Montgomery for their actions and life-saving efforts. Go to our website at bluermedia.com and check out their pictures and their awards, and definitely our law enforcement and public safety personnel, including fire and EMS, are often overlooked, but more than deserving for recognition. Talking about recognition, an employee of the Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa just celebrated 15 years an employee. Lily Thomas began working as a dishwasher in 1975, rose up through the ranks, worked in several different positions. Today she teaches others how to work and how to do good work. Besides her, she has six of her sisters, her sons, and three of her great nephews all employed at the hotel. How about that? Send us your news newsdesk at blue rammedia.com.

SPEAKER_20

I gave it hell on Friday night All about a single life. I gave my mama a reasonable praise, didn't care about trying to change No I gave my arm to those empty bars They always left me with a broken heart Never really ever gave up a thought Maybe stupid off God.

SPEAKER_17

Kick your pretty feet up on my dash. No need to go nowhere fast. Let's enjoy right here we are. Who knows where this road is supposed to lead?

SPEAKER_10

We got nothing but time. As long as you ride your next to me, everything's gonna be alright. It is meant to fight, go back, okay, it is meant to fight, okay, it is meant to fight, go bad, bad, it's meant to bad.

SPEAKER_07

I don't want to be so tight. But my heart's been hurt a couple times by a couple guys that didn't dream you ride. I ain't gonna lie, gon' lie. Cause I'm tired of the fight of Tell me what you're made up, boy make me.

SPEAKER_10

Oh girl, don't you know you beautiful?

SPEAKER_05

Let me set you the scene, November circuit, twenty nineteen. Put a hole in my heart, watched it bleed. You said the we were better off as strangers. I was barely alive. At six feet deep, I was five. Pretty sure they caught her outside. Okay, that's dramatic, but I survived, then I survived. I got a couple drinks, and thinking it's my bath. Let's walk away. Let's get out of the time. I guess when you couldn't care more. I couldn't care when you want to put the heartbreak. Six months later Oh the turns are table. All of a sudden now you're willing and able. Little therapy, now you're so stable. Okay, well, your next girlfriend will be so lucky. I guess we could get more. What does it get? What does it do to you do? Makes you stronger and wonder and hotter. Makes you wonder what you do in him at all. What does it get? With the back of drinks, and make it more break.

SPEAKER_01

Every day we take steps to keep the people we love safe, but some health risks are easy to miss. Ticks hiding in the yard can spread germs, like the ones that cause Lyme disease. Mice searching for food can spread bacteria that makes us sick. Mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water and can spread West Nile virus and more. Cockroaches are drawn to water in the home, leaving behind allergens that can trigger asthma attacks. A common pest can threaten our health. Learn how to protect your family at pestworld.org.

SPEAKER_21

You told me not to talk to danger. You told me not to count in a state without looking that way.

SPEAKER_17

You told me not to touch the stone. You told me not to do driving. You told me not to drink and drive. You gave me so many messages about how to stay safe.

SPEAKER_00

Why do you keep me safe by properly drying your dad?

SPEAKER_15

We had a person the other day ask us if it's safe to go down to the beaches, down to Gulf Shores, and um a resident, someone who's lived here. They say they've always done it during spring break, other years, but this year seems to be a little bit more violent, more craziness, and definitely more people being arrested, and they just don't want to get in the mix. And I can definitely understand that. The arrests were just around a hundred or so. This year is already well over 200 total arrests, and I expect that'll probably be uh another 50 to 100, maybe more. But we're seeing that nationwide, Daytona Beach, Virginia Beach, even over on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and elsewhere, a lot more teenagers trying to take over the beaches. Uh, some of them are carrying firearms, some of them are being uh, you know, underage and being high, being drunk. It happens, but it is happening much more. As far as that question, is it safe? I believe it is. I I don't think that as long as you're not there between, you know, late afternoon and the evening, and as long as you're not partying with the kids, then you're fine. I do want to tell you that uh, you know, there's a lot more traffic, obviously, and there's going to be some uh, you know, things happening, probably more each year that we're just not accustomed to. I've been here since 1989, so I can tell you that in the earlier years, spring break was light, traffic was light, and it almost felt like nothing special was happening. But that certainly has changed. As far as that question, again, I do believe it's safe. I believe Gulf Shores Police and all of our local agencies are doing a great job enforcing the law. You can't, you know, lock up everybody, you can't uh ticket everybody, but you certainly can do um targeted enforcement. I believe that yes. For now anyway. For now anyways, the beaches are safe.

In a little club downtown, playing songs on the cheap box and pouring the whiskey down. When I heard a sweet boy saying When you like some coffee, and I had to tell you this is just between an old memory. All my friends tell me I'm a fool for holding on. I know they're trying to help me. But I've been a fool to hold. So why can't they just let me? This is just between I'm not hurting anybody as far as I can see I just need sometimes once she goes well. I don't wanna talk about it. So why can't everybody see? This is just between you.

Between and unfortunately, once again, that's gonna do it for us. Wrap it up. Another program, another show in the books on the records, and boy, we are adding them up quickly. About 355 programs so far, and we've got hundreds and hundreds of more to do. But I am really happy, glad, and very sincere when I say we are so thankful for all of you, for all of you that listen to our show live or on demand, streaming on the iHeart Radio Network and across more than 40 other platforms. I didn't know what to expect when we began the radio show about four years ago, but uh well, it certainly has surprised me, although I've had a number of other radio shows broadcasting out on local uh radio stations and other platforms, and it was always successful. So, you know, I I guess maybe I'm not I shouldn't be as surprised as I am, but thanks to you, thanks to each and every listener, we have people listening not only locally but across the country and even in several other countries from time to time, and that's amazing, and that's the benefit of broadcasting uh across the internet spectrum. And well, I guess where we found a place here that's we're gonna call home for a while. Remember, no matter where you're driving, whatever road it might be, you have to pull to the right for sirens and lights. When you see lights coming up behind you, when you see uh emergency vehicles on the side of the road, you have to pull over as quickly and safely as possible. I know people just kind of start slowing down a little bit, but the law actually says you gotta stop. And if you don't stop, even if you do slow down, you can get a 50 or 100, or even in some states a$500 ticket. So be careful, please pull over, and let's get all of our first responders safely to wherever they're going. Until the next time, of course, you all be safe, be blessed, and I'll see you back on the radio.
